It all started on a trip to Burundi.
We were excited to explore — to feel the culture, the nightlife and the places locals love. But instead, we found ourselves stuck. There was no easy way to discover what was happening around us in real time. Things were happening, we just didn’t know about it.
That experience followed us back to Kigali — and that’s where we decided to build the solution. Rwanda first. East Africa next.
That frustration sparked something.
We realized it wasn’t just our problem — countless travelers, tourists, and even locals struggle to truly connect with a city beyond the surface. Events go unnoticed. Great homes go unbooked. Hidden restaurants stay hidden. We built Explorease to fix that.
That’s when Explorease was born — not as a tech product, but as a response to a very human need: The desire to feel at home wherever you are in Africa — to explore with ease.
Our mission is to make it effortless to explore Rwanda — and eventually all of East Africa. We connect travelers and locals to the best places to stay, things to do, and events happening right now, all in one app.
We’re building East Africa’s go-to travel super-app — starting in Kigali and expanding city by city across the region. Whether you’re a tourist planning your first visit or a local looking for something to do this weekend, Explorease gives you a real-time window into everything around you.
For hosts, event organizers, and property owners, we’re the platform that puts you in front of the right audience — without the middlemen. We believe that making exploration easy creates real economic opportunity for the people and places that make East Africa worth visiting.
